Beginner’s Roadmap to Technology

A beginner can be qualified in two ways:

  1. You are currently in another field of work and thinking seriously about going into technology
  2. You have been in technology for a year or less, but still unsure of how to attain the heights you desire

If you are in either case, our technology training program is designed to easily show how to start in technology, specialize in a field and stay focused on it.

As a result of the vastness and diversity of skills in technology, a beginner may be lost in the shuffle of how to start and what to start with.

Below are a few examples of very simple baseline soft skill sets for getting into technology for beginners and technology starters. It may be best to start early and right.

Step 1: Find your passion

System Administrator

Quality Assurance Analyst

Business Analyst

Data Analyst

Technical Writer

Programming

Help Desk Analyst

Do you like fixing things, troubleshooting, relentless until you fix a problem?

Do you like to criticize, can you spot a bad apple buried in 200 other good ones?

Do you have a knack for seeing the big picture, finding solutions to problems, follow-up skills and finding easier and more manageable ways of solving big problems?

Do you notice trends, never tire of digging to find more information, like numbers?

If you can think in pictures and can not see yourself in the movie industry, then technical writing can be an option.

Do you think logically? Very good mathematics skills are great but not absolute for a programmer.

Do you like interaction with others; enjoy seeing immediate results of solving user problems?

Step 2: Identify an area of specialty

As a beginner in technology, below is a pictorial overview of the very basic skill requirement to start, to pick a specialty and focus on it.
